ICD-10

With 2013 approaching quickly, chief financial officers in the healthcare industry have a good reason to stay awake at night. Planning for and  successfully transitioning to ICD-10 will not succeed without involvement of everyone in the organization. Even before ICD-10 goes into effect, healthcare organizations must convert from the 4010 transaction standard to the HIPAA 5010 standard to accommodate the new code-sets.

The professionals at Jimenez Consulting Solutions can help your organization develop a program to manage the successful transition to ICD-10.  Our approach involves the people, processes and technologies that will be impacted.  We will help your team:

  • Establish and monitor activities of cross-functional teams who must be involved in planning and managing the transition
  • Create processes to improve documentation of care and treatment to conform with the new standards
  • Develop a schematic which shows the software, interfaces, databases, and forms that will require changes
  • Review existing systems and software to determine whether the vendors will be able to support the ICD-10
  • Work with vendors to develop plans for transition  Evaluate interfaces and codes to make sure they will support billing
  • Determine if there will be a need for parallel systems and plan accordingly
  • Plan for the  education and training of users
  • Perform financial analysis to help you understand the impact of the changes
  • Review and update policies and procedures
  • Prepare training plans for end users
